USA: Thousands of police mourn shot police officer

Around 15,000 police officers lined the streets in Massapequa, on Thursday, to pay their respects to NYC police sergeant Paul Tuozzolo who was killed whilst on duty.
41 year-old Tuozzolo was killed in a shootout on 1575 Bronx River Avenue, after he took a bullet intended for a colleague. The gunman, who was inside a crashed Jeep Cherokee, 35 year-old Manuel Rosales, is reported to have been breaking into his estranged wife's house and was killed at the scene.
NYPD Commissioner James O'Neil promoted Paul Tuozzolo to 'Sergeant Special-Assignment' during the funeral.
