Austria: Libyan 'GNA is the only entity that can unify the country' - Kerry

US Secretary of State John Kerry stated that the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) is the "only entity that can unify Libya," during a press conference in Vienna, Monday.
"The GNA is the only entity that can unify the country and address the economic crisis and humanitarian suffering," Kerry said, adding that the "Libyan people want a government, the government is here, supported by the international community and ready to go to work."
Kerry also stated that the US and its allies are ready to arm Libya's GNA government and would support the GNA in seeking an exemption from a UN arms embargo, pointing to the threat of the so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL).
Around 20 foreign ministers, including from Russia, US, Germany and France, are expected to consider measures in order to bring stability to Libya which is led by newly formed Government of National Accord under Prime Minister Fayez Serraj, so that it could assert its authority in the country and counteract the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL). The situation in Syria and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are expected to top the agenda as well. The talks will run until Tuesday.
