Catalan independence supporters clashed with police in Lleida on Monday, as demonstrators tried to approach state government office.
The area was fenced, but the protesters crashed the fence and threw projectiles at police officers.
Protesters were also seen throwing parts of the fence as well as chairs at the police guards, with the latter running after the demonstrators, hitting them with batons.
The protests were triggered by Spanish Supreme Court's decision to sentence nine Catalan independence leaders to between nine and 13 years in prison for sedition during the region's failed 2017 independence bid, which captured headlines around the world.
