USA: AME Church holds first service following deadly shooting

People congregated at the Morris Brown African Methodist Episcopa (AME) Church in Charleston, South Carolina on Sunday, as the church reopened for the first time following an attack Wednesday in which nine churchgoers died after a white gunman opened fire at another church in the city. Church bells rang across the city at 10.00 local time (14:00 GMT) in memory of the victims. Huge crowds also gathered outside of AME Church to lay flowers and pay their respects. Nine people aged 26-87 were killed after a gunman opened fire inside Charleston's Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday evening. After the shooter, a 21-year-old white man named Dylann Roof was caught, officials declared he had racial motives. The gunman allegedly told his victims "You rape our women and you're taking over our country. And you have to go."
