Two men were charged by federal authorities on Friday with conspiring to provide material support to Islamic State militants. The pair had also allegedly planned an attack on anti-Islam activist Pamela Gellar. 25-year-old David Wright of Everett, Massachusetts, and 24-year-old Nicholas Rovinski of Warwick, Rhode Island, will both appear in a Boston court on Friday. They are charged with conspiring with one another, other conspirators and Usaamah Abdullah Rahim, a man killed by police in Boston last week. Gellar, who heads an organization called the American Freedom Defense Initiative, is an outspoken anti-Islam activist who organized a contest last month targeting the Prophet Muhammad. The controversial event ignited outrage in the Muslim community and elsewhere, which saw it as offensive and needlessly provocative.
