Syria: Mortars almost strike RT crew near Damascus

An RT crew filming in and around Damascus reportedly came within five metres (16 feet) of being struck by mortars in Harasta, a north-eastern suburb of the Syrian capital, Monday. No-one was injured in the incident, although there are indications that it was deliberate action against the journalists, according to those who experienced it first-hand. The crew were heading to the frontline town of Jobar when the incident occurred. They were being escorted at all times by soldiers and officials of the Syrian Army. Harasta has seen intense fighting in recent days, with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces purportedly engaging the Al-Nusra Front.
