Egypt: Blast rips through national security building in Cairo

A large bomb exploded in a state security building in the Shubra district of Cairo, tearing apart its facade and injuring six people, Thursday. The blast could be heard from across the city. Although there isn't official confirmation regarding the casualties, they have not been discounted according to Egyptian security officials. The explosion has also destroyed several cars and blew out the windows of nearby buildings. First reports indicate that it was a car bomb. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The bomb attack comes after a series of blasts throughout this summer, including the killing of Egypt's attorney general Hisham Barakat by car bomb and an attack on the Italian consulate.
