Cruise Passenger Numbers: Germany Now Rules The Waves

The cruise industry’s contribution to the British economy continued to grow in 2014 but Germany has overtaken the UK as Europe's biggest cruise market.
The number of British passengers taking an ocean cruise fell from 1.73 million in 2013 to 1.64 million last year – the first drop since records began. This compares with 1.77 million German passengers who took an ocean cruise in 2014.
Germany, the UK, Italy, France and Spain are the top five source markets in Europe.
