Around 50 people gathered on Thursday in front of the Bundestag in Berlin on Wednesday as the lower chamber meets to discuss newly proposed asylum laws. The protesters chanted pro-refugee sentiments and held banners displaying slogans which said "abolish discrimatory laws against refugees". Politicians are expected to discuss the maximum permitted period in why asylum seekers can stay in refugee reception centers, limits on social benefits, along with access to health care. The country struggles to deal with the massive influx of refugees who are continuing to flood its borders. It is estimated that up to 800,000 people could apply for asylum in Germany by the end of 2015.
