Fox Plans Movie About Same-Sex Marriage Case Plaintiff

Fox is planning to bring to the screen the story of Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in the landmark case of Obergefell v. Hodges, which led to the Supreme Court ruling finding a fundamental right to same-sex marriage in the United States. The studio has acquired Obergefell’s life rights as well as those of his attorney.
Obergefell and John Arthur were a long-time couple, who, since they could not marry in their home state, married in Maryland in 2013, shortly before Arthur died of ALS.
