Final preparations for Russia's World War II Victory Day celebrations were taking place in Moscow's Red Square on Thursday night, as Muscovites gathered to watch a rehearsal of the spectacle, ahead of the big day on May 9.
Soldiers marched through the square followed by military hardware, which included T-34 tanks and RS-24 Yars ballistic missiles.
The Victory Parade will take place in 26 Russian cities on May 9 to mark the 71st anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union at the end of World War II. Around 100 units of military equipment including T-90 tanks, armoured personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles will take part in the event.
