Texas Man Wentenced to Prison for Trying to Join Islamic State

An Austin, Texas man was sentenced on Friday to almost seven years in prison for attempting to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State militant group. The U.S. Justice Department said in a statement that 24-year-old Michael Wolfe was sentenced to 82 months in prison. He pleaded guilty last June to attempting to provide material support to Islamic State. His plea came after he was arrested as part of a Federal Bureau of Investigation sting operation.
