Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), stated that the Working Group on Security Issues had "finally managed to agree on the text of a framework decision on disengagement of forces and assets," following their meeting in Minsk on Wednesday.
Sajdik said that the group had succeeded in agreeing on all issues surrounding disengagement in the three areas: Zolotoe, Petrovskoe and the Luganskaya village. He confirmed that the document had been signed by the Ukrainian and Russian representatives within the TCG and "initialed by the representatives of the separate districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions."
Sajdik is moderating the protracted peace talks between Ukraine, anti-government forces and Russia. The agreement represents the first time there has been a commitment to a pullback of troops.
