Protests threw rocks and bottles at police in the Fountain Park neighbourhood of St. Louis, Wednesday, after police shot dead Mansur Ball-Bey, an 18-year-old black man, after claiming that he was pointing a gun at the officers. There were unconfirmed reports of a car and a house being set alight in the Fountain Park neighbourhood of St. Louis, where at least three arrests were made. In Ferguson itself police deployed tear gas in a bid to contain the demonstration. According to a police statement made by St. Louis Police Chief Police Chief Sam Dotson, Ball-Bey pointed a gun at officers after they approached his house with a search warrant. The 18-year-old was then shot. Another suspect fled the scene. After searching the suspects' property, police officers purportedly seized an unknown amount of crack cocaine and four guns.
