02.11.2016
Around 200 people occupied a courthouse in Thessaloniki on Wednesday, in order to protest against the auction of people's homes.
The protesters accuse the government of failing to stop the auctions and protect family residences. Blocking the courtroom, the 200 protesters managed to prevent the notary and judge from starting the auction. After about an hour of negotiations the notary left the courtroom.
Numerous lawyers are supporting the protest movement, which is mainly directed at bank auctions and the government, whom they believe does not give enough support to single property house owners.
