Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrated his 63rd birthday by scoring seven times in an ice hockey match alongside some legendary team mates at Sochi's Shaiba Arena, Wednesday. Wearing the number 11 shirt, Putin was joined on the ice by Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) legends including Viacheslav Fetisov and Pavel Bure as well as Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. According to presidential spokesperson Dmitri Peskov, Putin will spend the rest of his 63rd birthday with relatives and friends. The Russian President only took up the sport a short time ago but now regularly appears on the ice and has been known to invite the Presidents of Finland and Belarus to join him. Last year, Putin took the day off to enjoy his birthday for the first time in his presidency, spending the day in the isolated Siberian Taiga, over 300 km (186 miles) from the nearest inhabited town.
