Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov said that 60 targets were engaged in the latest round of airstrikes on militants in Syria, Tuesday, speaking during a press conference from the Ministry of Defence in Moscow. Konashenkov confirmed that "Russian pilots carried out 55 combat sorties from the Hmeymim airbase," engaging a total of "60 targets in the Hama, Idlib, Lattakia, Damascus, Aleppo and Deir ez-Zor Provinces." He also issued an extensive list of targets destroyed, including "12 command centres of illegal armed groups, two depots of ammunition and 30 firing positions." Konashenkov also noted the importance of the "memorandum from our American colleagues about the prevention air incidents in the Syrian Arab Republic." He said it was of "a great move forward which is of great practical importance." The General also mentioned that there were other issues like "operational interaction in rescuing of pilots of any country" to allow for "concerted actions in rescue operations."
