Argentina: Thousands rally against Macri's reforms in Buenos Aires

Thousands of people took to the streets of Buenos Aires, Friday, to protest against President Mauricio Macri's pro-business reforms after Argentina's biggest trade unions called for action ahead of International Labour Day.
Protesters waved Argentine flags and blocked traffic in the capital, while Argentina's rivaling workers' unions set aside differences in order to take a stand against skyrocketing consumer prices, shrinking subsidies, job cuts and one of the world's highest inflation rates, estimated at around 30 percent.
Around 140,000 workers are reported to have lost their jobs since President Macri took office in December 2015, among them thousands of state workers. Macri justifies his business-friendly policies with the need to attract foreign investment and pull Argentina's stagnating economy out of recession.
