One Direction to Meet Roller Coaster Crash Victim

One Direction has filmed a video message and offered to meet a teenage girl whose leg was amputated after the Alton Towers roller coaster crash earlier this month in which several people were injured.
They were prompted into action by the #Get1DToLeah Twitter campaign. 17-year-old Leah Washington from Barnsley in South Yorkshire was in the front row of a carriage on the Smiler ride when it smashed into an empty carriage in front of it, leaving 16 people injured. A friend posted a message to Twitter explaining she'd been to see the One Direction fan in hospital, and that she had had to miss their appearance at the Capital FM Summertime Ball.
