A small group of young people protested against German businessman and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Daimler AG, Dieter Zetsche, who was invited to the Green Party congress in Munster on Sunday.
The Daimler CEO was invited as a keynote speaker on the initiative of Federal Chairman of the Alliance 90/The Greens, Cem Oezdemir, to speak about energy transition, or so-called 'Energiewende,' in Germany's transport sector as well as the Paris climate deal adopted at the Paris climate conference (COP21) in December 2015.
The moment Zetsche approached the stage, the protesters started to enter the congress hall, while wearing artificial beards and chanting. They were also seen holding banners reading "Arms exports for gross domestic product!" and "Fine dust instead of electro smog!"
Zetsche, however, showed off his sense of humor and thanked the protesters for an "ingenious entrance," before adding that he even "enjoyed" their protest action.
