Hypnotic Video Visualizes Half a Million Journeys on the London Underground

It might not seem it when you're armpit-deep into a stranger at 8 a.m. on a Monday morning, but the thousands of underground journeys Londoners make daily can be quite beautiful. 26-year-old Will Gallia used Oyster card data from 562-thousand, 145 journeys on the London Underground network to create this visualisation. All of the data is from the year 2009. Using Transport for London's recommended journey routes, he predicted the path that each individual would take across the network with a custom journey planner.
