The Russian Air Force hit the ammunition depot of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the province of Homs on Monday. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, "a series of explosions indicated a direct hit bombed on target, resulting in a detonation of a large number of ammunition, their expansion and there was a large-scale source of fire and the object was destroyed." Twenty-five sorties have been conducted in the past 24 hours, according to Russia's Defence Ministry. As a consequence of the strikes, nine installations of 'terrorism' in Syria have been destroyed. Sukhoi Su-24M and Su-34 bombers took part in the Jisr al-Shughur sorties while armoured Sukhoi Su-25 ground-support fighter jets were involved elsewhere.
