Posters showing portrait of Vladimir Putin and the words 'Eastern Alternative' and 'Republika Srpska' were seen on the walls of Srebrenica and Bratunac on Tuesday. The posters were put up by Serbian organisation, Easter Alternative, which is pro-Russia and opposes the ties with the European Union. The organisation was founded in Serbia by former members of the Radical Party, and it has a subdivision in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Republika Srpska entity. Almost all the posters in Srebrenica were removed on the same day. Vojin Pavlovic, one of the members of Istocna Alternative from Bratunac, said the organisation used the posters to show their discomfort and disagreement with British resolution on Srebrenica and to thank Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation for defending the rights of the Serbian people in Republika Srpska. Srebrenica is a town with a Muslim majority, from which over 6,000 Bosnians were killed en masse on July 11, 1995, the 20th anniversary will be commemorated on July 11. Bratunac is a town with a Serbian majority. It lies just 10 kilometres away from Srebrenica.
