Around 2,000 protesters took to the streets of Madrid on Saturday, to protest against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). The march ran along the Paseo del Prado from the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V to the Plaza de Cibeles, with those leading the march carrying a banner reading "People and the planet above the multinationals." The protest concludes a week of protests against TTIP and follows three million Europeans signing a petition calling for TTIP to be scrapped. Anti-TTIP events were held in around 50 other Spanish cities throughout the week.
