Russia's brand-new national football kit and the official match ball for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, dubbed the 'Krasava' was unveiled in Moscow on Friday.
Designed by Adidas, the new uniform was reportedly inspired by the style and color of the USSR's football kit in the 1980s. Meanwhile the new ball has a striking red design which symbolises the Russian ruby, and incorporates a innovative panel shape which ensures enhanced grip and in-flight visibility. The word 'Krasava' is usually used by the Russian football fans to hail the player for the great goal or performance.
CEO of Russia's 2018 FIFA World Cup organising committee Alexei Sorokin said that the ball "is nice, its name is bright and sonorous." He added, that 'Krasava' "is the word that we often hear at the stadiums and in the courtyards as well as at the amateur competitions. This word is very football".
The FIFA Confederations Cup will be held from June 17 to July 2, 2017, in four Russian cities: Moscow, Sochi, St. Petersburg and Kazan.
