Russia: Putin meets Greek PM Tsipras to discuss economic relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in Moscow, Wednesday, to discuss how to improve economic ties and trade between both leaders' countries. During the meeting, Putin highlighted that "not so long ago Russia was the leading trade and economic partner of Greece holding the first place in trade turnover". However, the Russian president also noted that, whilst "turnover between our countries had grown by more than double between 2009 and 2013", it had decreased by 40 percent in 2014. Putin concluded by stating his desire to work out what could be done to "re-establish that growth rate".
