Egypt: Mourners commemorate victims of EgyptAir crash in Cairo

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Al-Mosheer Tantawy Mosque in New Cairo, Monday, to commemorate the victims of the EgyptAir flight that crashed in the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday.
Relatives of the victims, EgyptAir employees, politicians and army officers arrived at the mosque for the ceremony, which was closed to the press.
EgyptAir Flight MS804 was expected to arrive in Cairo at 03:15 (01:15 GMT) on Thursday after taking off from the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris at 23:09 (21:09 GMT). The plane was carrying 56 passengers and 10 crew members on board, according to flight tracking services. EgyptAir said that the Airbus A320 lost contact at around 02:30 (00:30 GMT), 10 miles (16 km) inside Egyptian airspace and was last registered at an altitude of 37,000 feet (11,300 metres). An investigation into the crash is ongoing and search teams are currently trying to locate the plane's two black boxes.
