Germany: EU-Russia free trade zone could happen in future – government spokesperson

A common free trade zone between Europe and Russia could happen in the future, government spokesperson and Head of Communications at the Ministry of Economics and Energy Tobias Duenow said at the federal press conference in Berlin, Friday. Duenow said trade agreements often lead to the deepening of “cultural and social" relations between states, but emphasised the proposition seems "almost illusionary” given the current geopolitical tensions between the separate parties.
