Coalition Puts Labor's Plan to Sell Port of Melbourne for $6bn in Hot Water

Victoria’s plans to raise $6bn by selling the port of Melbourne are in jeopardy: the opposition refuses to support legislation for its sale.
The opposition leader, Matthew Guy, said the port sale did not stack up because it would end the possibility of a second Melbourne container port.
“Daniel Andrews does not have a mandate for creating a long-term private port monopoly, which kills off the development of a second container port for 70 years,” Guy said on Tuesday.
