2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu Recalled For Sunroof Switch Glitch

General Motors has issued a recall for 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles that came equipped with sunroofs. According to The Detroit News, the switch that's used to open and close those sunroofs is overly sensitive, which could lead to pinched fingers -- or worse. Sound familiar? It should. It's the same problem that led to the recall of nearly 70,000 Cadillac ATS vehicles from the 2013-2015 model years last month. In both models, the sunroof switches fail to meet federal standards, which set the level of force required to activate them.
In the case of the ATS, the fix was somewhat complicated, because the sunroof switch wasn't recessed.
In the Malibu, it's a bit simpler. The roof-mounted switch will be recalibrated so that its one-touch open/close feature is more difficult to activate.
