Russia: Putin takes chopper trip over Khakassia to inspect rebuilding work

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Khakassia’s Governor Viktor Zimin took a helicopter ride over the Republic of Khakassia on Friday in order to assess ongoing reconstruction efforts in the area following fires that broke out there in April. The deadly wildfires left 32 people dead and damaged over 1,600 homes. According to the Khakassian governor, approximately €48 million ($54 million) has been allocated to rebuild the homes of the wildfire victims, the construction of which is expected to be completed by September 1. This is the Russian president's second trip to the Khakassia region in the last two and a half months.
