Germany: Merkel welcomes world leaders ahead of 'Compact with Africa' summit
German Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed leaders of European and African countries at the Chancellery in Berlin on Tuesday ahead of the G20-Initiative 'Compact with Africa'.
Merkel can be seen greeting leaders one by one as they arrive, before gathering for a group photo at the Chancellery.
Twelve countries are involved in the summit, including Egypt, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Tunisia. The dialogue was launched by Germany in 2017 to tackle the root cause of migration by creating more jobs and better infrastructure.
