Todung Mulya Lubis, the lawyer for two convicted Australian drug smugglers, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, condemned the court process that convicted them calling it "defective", in an address to press in Wijaya Pura port on Monday. The port, from which boats can be taken to Nusakambangan Island prison, has seen a growing presence of protesters and media as the date for the execution by firing-squad nears. Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop's has previously made allegations that the trial judges had asked for tens of thousands of dollars to reduce the sentence of Chan and Sukumaran to less than 20 years imprisonment. The lawyers and the families of those convicted as well as the Australian Foreign Ministry attempt to delay the execution of Chan and Sukumaran, who have been told they could be executed at any time on Tuesday, April 28. In response to the growing protest at Wijaya Pura Port the Indonesian authorities have posted as many as 1,203 police officers and soldiers as well as a specialist trained dogs around the island.
