Spain: Police arrest seven over alleged terror links

One person was detained in Alicante, south-eastern Spain, on Sunday in connection with alleged terror links. Six other persons were arrested in the Valencia and Ceuta provinces the same day.
The arrests were carried out in Crevillente, L'Alqueria D'Ansar, Muro d'Alcoi, Alcoy and Alicante. Four of the detained have Spanish citizenship but are reportedly of Jordanian, Syrian and Moroccan origin. According to the police, the group has been under suspicion since 2014. Those arrested are suspected of providing logistical support for terrorist groups Jabhat Al Nusra and ISIS. The leader of group, whose name has been withheld, allegedly has kept in contact with ISIS members and was asked to recruit women to join their terror units.
The investigation is being carried out by state prosecutors in cooperation with the courts.
