Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan held bilateral talks in Istanbul on Monday after participating at the inauguration of the 930 kilometers (578 miles) long sea section of the TurkStream natural gas pipeline.
During their meeting the two leaders were expected to discuss further development of Russian-Turkish relations and current regional and international problems, a presidential statement said.
TurkStream, which construction started in 2017, connects Russian city of Anapa in the Krasnodar region and Turkish Kıyıkoy town in the Kırklareli Province through the Black Sea.
