Woman Swept Away in Kentucky Flood

Police said Friday that a woman died after her car was swept off the highway and into a flooded creek in Kentucky. Authorities in Lee County received a call in the morning that a car had become submerged after heavy rains in the area. Kentucky Police said, "As the floodwaters receded, the vehicle was found submerged in the creek." A series of agencies joined the search for the car, including the Sheriff's Office, EMS and Fire and Rescue. A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was alone in the car.
