Did Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Deserve a Life Sentence?

Ross Ulbricht, the 31-year-old convicted as the mastermind behind black market website Silk Road, was handed two life sentences for his crimes in a Manhattan federal court on Friday.
The sentence sent shockwaves online, igniting debate over Internet freedom and America's war on drugs.
Ulbricht was convicted of all seven counts related to operating the black market website from 2011 to 2013, including conspiring to commit money laundering and distributing narcotics online, back in February.
On Friday afternoon, a federal judge handed him the maximum sentence, as well as a fine of $183 million, in a case that has divided public opinion.
