Lebanon: Iraqi refugees gifted presents for Epiphany

Iraqi refugees in Lebanon celebrated Epiphany on Sunday in Beirut. International support and local churches put on events for refugees, who sought safety in the country. The community of Iraqi refugees gathered for Mass in the Saint Raphael Church.Father Fadi Philip explained that the church "are doing our best to help the majority of the Iraqi refugees here in Lebanon. They are estimated to be around 3,200 immigrant families in Beirut. We are trying to offer them love and support just as Jesus taught us to do, we are trying to ease their suffering and put a smile on their faces."
According to the estimates of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the current number of Iraqi refugees in Lebanon is just under 30,000, while others place the number at just under 100,000.
