Russia: US-led coalition works against IS in Syria "quite moderately" - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that US-led coalition in Syria has been working against so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) "quite moderately," speaking at a joint press conference with his Guatemalan counterpart Carlos Raul Morales in Moscow, Friday.
Lavrov said: "During our regular contacts with US Secretary of State John Kerry, I've been constantly pointing out on the fact that the coalition has been working against ISIL quite moderately. However, speaking about Jabhat al-Nusra, we see neither results nor at least any attempts to suppress this terrorist organisation."
Both ministers expressed their willingness to continue efforts in fighting against international terrorism and extremism in the Middle East and North Africa. "We both share and support those principles reflected in the UN Charter and those goals that the UN sets for itself. These are: support of peace and security in the entire world, respect for human rights as well as population development," Morales stated.
