A Woman Posted a Photo of Her Breast on Facebook to Save Lives

Lisa Royle wants you to look at her breast selfie. It could save your life.
On May 11, a week before undergoing a mastectomy, Royle took a photo of her breast and posted the image on Facebook to show how mundane-looking breast cancer can appear. She wrote on Facebook, ""Ok so I never thought I'd post a boob picture on Facebook. But I thought I would before it gets chopped off next week. So here it is ... This all that I found on my boob. Very subtle dimples underneath that could easily be missed when we're all rushing round getting ready in a morning." In Royle's photo, the dimples look small and could easily be overlooked. But the indentations are one of many subtle symptoms that can be associated with breast cancer. And as Royle wrote on her Facebook, taking the time to get any of these abnormalities checked by a doctor is essential.
