Poland: Red flares burn as nationalists celebrate Polish independence

Polish nationalists marched through the streets of Warsaw on Friday, celebrating the anniversary of Poland's independence in 1918, after more than a century of partitions by the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, Germany and Russia.
The rally participants carried Polish flags and held up flares while they were marching. Some used it as an opportunity to voice their anti-abortion stance.
Some 7,000 police were deployed in the city, as clashes between have become a frequent occurrence in previous independence marches, but no disturbances have been reported this year.
