Christie’s put an assortment of iconic art pieces up for auction, in New York on Wednesday. The collection includes work from Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns and contemporary artist Jeff Koons. Among the art is the $35-million (€30 million) Colored Mona Lisa by Andy Warhol and Lucian Freud's "Benefits Supervisor Resting," estimated at $30-50 million (€26-44 million). Also on sale is Warhol's iconic Campbell's Soup Can, estimated at $6-$9 million (€5.3-8 million), and Jasper Johns's Do it Yourself, estimated at $2-3 million (€1.8-2.6 million). Artwork from the legendary collection of Ileana Sonnabend and the estate of her daughter and curator Nina Castelli Sundell, is also being offered at auction on May 13 and 14 during Christie’s sale of post-war and contemporary art. The total value of Sonnabend's collection has been estimated as high as $1 billion (€0.9 billion), with many of the pieces having already been sold off over the past few years.
