France: 20 officers injured as strikers and labour protesters unleash fury in Paris

15.06.2016
Some 20 police officers and six protesters were injured in Paris, Tuesday, after clashes erupted between law enforcement, strikers and protesters at a demonstration against the government’s proposed labour reforms.
Tens of thousands of demonstrators were out on the Paris streets, with seven unions and student groups organising the action, part of France’s ongoing protests and strikes against reforms to the country’s labour laws.
Commonly referred to as the 'El Khomri law' after French Labour Minister Myriam El Khomri, the reforms will look at almost all aspects of France's labour laws; maximum working hours, holidays and breaks, among other areas will be open to negotiation as the government attempts to liberalise France's labour market.
