The Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev held a press-conference in Moscow, Tuesday. During his speech, Medvedev confirmed the intention to stop the transit of gas through Ukraine after 2019 as there will be no extension of the existing contract "under any circumstances". However, the deputy chairman assured that all the customers will receive the gas supply according to the contracts. The transit contract between Russian and Ukraine expires in 2019. Moscow has made clear it has no intentions to prolong the contract due to the construction of the new pipeline under the Black Sea. He also spoke about the "alternative" gas supply to South East Asian countries in "both in pipe gas and Liquefied natural gas," but added that Gazprom will not impose gas on other countries. He went on to speak about the Turkish stream project, stating that there is "no risk" regarding the first branch of the project.
