Yemen: Saudi-led airstrikes former US HQ - the al-Anad airbase

Saudi-led coalition jets bombarded the al-Anad airbase - the former hub of US 'counter-terrorism' operations in the country - in the province of Lahij, Wednesday. The strikes destroyed Yemeni fighter jets and severely damaging the runway. The attack follows a series of airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition on Sanaa International Airport. The Saudi-led coalition, which seeks to restore the government of former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and fight against the Houthi rebels, includes eight other Arab states and is receiving logistical support from the United States, Britain and France.
