SOT, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson (Farsi): "The Islamic Republic of Iran has clearly announced its support of Yemeni people and their rights. But, linking such attacks and defensive actions to Iran is in line with that maximum lie, after the failures that they had, which they are committing."

SOT, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson (Farsi): "It has been five years that Yemen has been dealing with a unilateral and bloody war against its people. The Saudi coalition, supported by the West and especially the US, has accused [us] of many war crimes in Yemen. It is obvious that Yemeni people and Yemen's military forces have a reaction towards it in order to stop such crimes. We completely reject such talks and accusations."

SOT, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson (Farsi): "None of these talks, regarding the meeting [of Rouhani and Trump in New York] is in Iran's schedule and this meeting will not happen. We have announced that if Americans lift economic terrorism, decrease pressure on Iranian people and return to the JCPOA, it might be possible for them, if they are a member of the JCPOA, to join like others and say their words within the framework of sessions of the member countries of the JCPOA."

SOT, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson (Farsi): "Based on the last developments and, as I was notified, since yesterday, its [British tanker's] legal proceedings and judicial process are about to be done and there are just a few small bureaucracy issues left that will be finished in the coming days and this tanker will be released soon."

SOT, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson (Farsi): "Despite events happening in the region, we emphasise again that the region belongs to regional countries and the security of the region belongs to regional countries and the root of insecurity is the presence of trans-regional forces in the region. We and regional countries deserve the most to defend the region and keep its stability and security, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has always regarded regional countries as its priority in any situation."

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Seyyed Abbas Mousavi denied US's claims of Iranian involvement in attacks on Saudi oil facilities, during a press conference in Tehran on Monday.
"Linking such attacks and defensive actions to Iran is in the line with that maximum lie," he said, adding: "we completely reject such talks and accusations."
The drone attacks took place on September 14 at an oil processing facility in Abqaiq and at Khurais oil field, effectively disrupting half of Saudi Arabia's oil reserves. Houthi militants operating in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack. However, US authorities have accused Iran of the assault.
Mousavi later stated that talks with the US could "be possible" within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), given that the US "decrease pressures against Iranian people and return to the JCPOA."
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson also announced that the British-flagged Stena Impero tanker that was seized by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz on July 19, "will be released soon."
