Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that the Dutch Safety Board who were investigating MH17 did not accept Russia's invitation to share information or collaborate on the case, speaking at a press conference in Moscow, Wednesday. Zakharova emphasised that Russia wanted to contribute to the investigation from the outset, stating that "it was Russia that initiated UN security council resolution 2166 that contains a demand for the organisation of the investigation," adding that "all our calls for a transparent investigation through the mechanism of the Security Council were denied. Our calls to implement this resolution were also ignored." The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that Dutch experts and investigators were invited to Russia to share information but that "our colleagues didn't reply to our invitation," adding that only later "when the attention of the international community is focused on the report then they say that Russia is not cooperating."
