New anti-riot fencing has been installed around the White House complex on Thursday in the aftermath of protests sparked by the George Floyd killing, in Washington DC.
The additional fences range from seven feet (2.13m) to more than nine feet (2.73m) high and extend the perimeter of the previous one placed on Tuesday along Lafayette Square to keep protesters further away from the White House grounds.
The presence of the National Guard has also increased, as troops can be seen lining the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and patrolling other federal monuments across the US capital.
Floyd's death on May 25 has sparked a wave of protests throughout the US, with violence and looting in some areas, and around the world.
Floyd died in Minneapolis after a police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes as he was recorded saying, "I can't breathe" and "Don't kill me."
Four officers involved in the incident have since been fired. The officer who knelt on Floyd was arrested and charged with murder.
