SOT, Friedrich Mulln, SOKO animal welfare association founder (German): "Politicians are trying to jump on the train, but all I can say is: every political party in Germany in the past decades has resoundingly failed to protect the experimental animals as well as to step out of this false research. And this is what the citizens are making clear to them now."

Over 13,000 animal rights activists protested in Hamburg on Saturday to demand an immediate end to animal testing at Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology's facility in Mienenbuttel.
Demonstrators marched through the German city chanting and holding signs depicting conditions of testing animals to raise awareness.
The turnout was reportedly higher than expected by organisers.
SOKO animal welfare association founder Friedrich Mulln called on politicians to find an "exit plan" from the use of animals in experiments, calling it an "outdated, atrocious and dangerous" practice.
The protest followed the publication of distressing footage reportedly obtained at the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology (LPT) by an undercover activist working for the Soko Tierschutz and Cruelty Free International organisations.
It shows monkeys strapped in metal harnesses and kept in cramped containers, while cats and dogs are left in degrading conditions after alleged toxicity testing.
