Hundreds of people were present at the yearly ceremony at the Victory Monument on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow to commemorate the start of Russian involvement in World War II, Monday. The commemoration was attended by residents of the capital and veterans, who laid flowers at the monument in remembrance of all those killed during what the Russians call 'the Great Patriotic War.' It is exactly 74 years since Nazi Germany attacked the USSR, leaving over 26 million Soviets dead in less than four years.
